Lunardahlia!!!

We’re spotlighting talent in the cosplay community!
Every month, The Variant showcases cosplayers who display talent, creativity, and a positive voice within the cosplay community.

It’s January 1st, 2025!!!
It’s a brand new year and here’s a brand new Cosplay Spotlight!!!
You may recognize Lunardahlia from her appearance in 8 other Cosplay Spotlights or from guest spots at all of
the cons we’ve attended in the last few years. Let’s catch up with her and see what she’s been up to!!!

Hey everyone!
Lunardahlia here, but you can call me Dahlia!

My first cosplay was almost 10 years ago (wow!), but I’ve really been crafting and become part of the community
these last 5 years! I have made so many wonderful friends through this silly little hobby and I’m so
happy they are all part of my life

I put different levels of effort into all of my cosplays, but they all get a huge amount of my love. You’ll find that I
do a mix of pre-made and pieced together cosplays. Right now, I’d say that wig styling is
my strongest skill followed by prop making. I plan to do more cosplays where I
make everything in the next few years which is super exciting as I plan to
really work on improving my sewing skills! One of my dream cosplays
that involves a lot of sewing is Semaramis from Fate Apocrypha.

The majority of my cosplays are from anime, cartoons, and video games. Most of the characters that I choose
to do are ones that I have some type of connection to whether that be that I see myself in them or that we
share a common interest or ideal. Some of my upcoming projects include Fern (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End),
Nelliel (Bleach TYBW), and ABA (Guilty Gear). Ultimately though, I love anything that is cute but deadly!

For the January 2025 Cosplay Spotlight, Dahlia brought us two stunning sets of Bunny D.Va from Overwatch (a throwback to
her Cruiser D.Va set in her 2020 Cosplay Spotlight) and her all-new Lucy from CyberPunk 2077. Both
were shot by our amazing
photography director, Tomisina Lynn on location in beautiful downtown Raleigh, North Carolina.

WAIT!!…why are you still reading this??
