We’re spotlighting talent in the cosplay community!
Every month, The Variant showcases cosplayers who display talent, creativity, and a positive voice within the cosplay community.
I’m Kibit, you can call me Kit!
I’ve been cosplaying since 2012, so that makes this year my 10th year in cosplay.
I started my cosplay journey hand stitching fabric on the floor of my room. I had no idea what I was doing (still don’t sometimes), but I was excited about it!I remember attending my first con, Animazement 2011, and being in awe of all the cosplayers. I looked at their work and thought, “they made something amazing from nothing, HOW?? I don’t think I could ever do that”.
10 years later I can say that I am indeed, doing that. Cosplay has been an exceptionally motivating and fulfilling experience for me. I started off very shy. I lacked confidence. I lacked community. Cosplay has allowed me to grow into myself.
To build the confidence and community I needed around me.Everyone has a different experience and journey with cosplay. There are so many great resources out there for it now. From pre-made cosplay you can buy, to wonderful tutorials made by talented community members. Whatever your approach, your age or skill level, if you’re interested give it a try!
This month KitBit along with Jon V Photography brought us two INCREDIBLE Genshin Impact cosplays, Ganyu & Mona!!
BUT WAIT!! THERE’S MORE!!
They even went and did an all-new Cammy from Street Fighter shoot and we still have some some surprises set for the month so

The Variant is a community of writers, artists, cosplayers, photographers and most of all, fans of the comic book culture that strives to take an exclusive look into the world of comics, cosplay and conventions.
In a world where rehashed ideas are the standard, we instead choose to give a “Variant” outlook at the fandoms, comics, cons and cosplayers you all know and love.
