Cosplay Spotlight

We’re spotlighting talent in the cosplay community!
Every month, The Variant showcases cosplayers who display talent, creativity, and a positive voice within the cosplay community.

Hey there! My name is Sarah but you might know me as Lilmoonnn.

I’m a cosplayer / model but you could also say I’m a bit of a jack of all trades. I’m not only a licensed esthetician but also a freelance photographer. My modeling journey started when I was 14 years old, and is what led me to get my degree in photography. I have only been a part of the cosplay community for about four years when I got this crazy original character idea stuck in my head. With the help of my best friend in college, who is a fantastic artist, I was able to bring it to life.

When I went to my first convention I fell in love with the community. Everyone is so kind and welcoming that you really can’t help but smile and have a great time! I’m so grateful for the people I have met and friends I have made through this community and I can’t wait for more con adventures in the near future!!

Both sets of pictures were shot by our Director of Photography, Tomisina Lynn on location in downtown Raleigh, NC while safely practicing social distancing.

This isn’t the first time you’ve seen Lilmoonnn as a Cosplay Spotlight. If you look back to our October 2018 Spotlight you’ll see where we dumped a bunch of blood on her and then lit the back yard on fire while we shot and filmed her as Carrie White.

So we wanted to do something a little different with our March Spotlight. Lilmoonnn is a part-time model so with her Black Canary shoot we went for a more modeling look to the pics with a little cosplay and edits thrown in for good measure.

This is, however, a first for The Variant. While we’ve had a couple of Harley Quinn cosplayers here and there as part of compilation features, we’ve never had the full-on “Harley Quinn Experience” if you will. We decided to go full out crazy pants with it and took her to
Pullen Park in Raleigh, NC where we put her in a straight jacket, placed her on the carousel and let her BE Harley Quinn. Then we took her on the train…

WAIT!!…why are you still reading this??
GO CHECK OUT THE PICS!!!!
